Sanoj Mishra, the director of the film "The Diary of West Bengal," has requested a month's extension from the Kolkata Police to appear for questioning.

In a letter sent to the police, Mishra cited work commitments and health issues as reasons for his inability to attend the scheduled questioning on May 30.

The Kolkata Police had registered a case against Mishra regarding the controversial trailer of the film, which has sparked controversy for its claims about the government of West Bengal and alleged incidents of violence. Mishra had previously expressed concerns for his personal safety and sought assistance from prominent political figures.

The case adds to the growing trend of controversial films that have generated substantial revenue despite facing criticism.
